    FAQ

    What is the EGL?

The Emirates Gridiron League is an amateur adult tackle football league in the United Arab Emirates. We are NOT a professional league – our players play for the love of this great sport and for the camaraderie of being part of the most unique multi-cultural football program in the world. Our players hail from over 25 different countries, and, over the years, more than 70 different nations have been represented on EGL teams.

What teams are in the EGL?

Historically, the EGL has consisted of teams from Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain. Currently, the EGL continues its post-Covid rebuilding, so there is one active team (the Dubai Spartans) and one league-wide travel team (the EGL Eagles). The Spartans represent the EGL in the regional Arab American Football League (AAFL), while the Eagles compete in international friendlies against club teams from other countries.

Can I join? What if I have no experience?

WE ARE ACTIVELY RECRUITING NEW PLAYERS! We intend to create more teams in the UAE and reestablish our domestic competitions, which have been competitive and exciting over the years. YOU DO NOT NEED EXPERIENCE! While we have many players with years of experience, many of our players join us without ever having played football before, and our staff gets them trained up and ready to play!

    How much does this cost?

    Monthly fees are AED 150.

    How do I pay?

Once you are registered, you will receive a payment link.

    When does the season start?

We practice and play year-round, with a short break in July and August. JOIN NOW!

So, what am I waiting for?

Good question! Get off the fence and join now!
